British Gas smart meter Not Deducting ElectricityCredit
I appear to be having problem's with my smart meter its not deducting any electricity credit.I had an engineer attend last week British Gas gave me some temporary credit for both electricity and gas,I did notice that the electricity remained at 0.00 debit the next day even though the gas deducted into -I did mention that to the call centre, they did reinstate my original amount of credit however I have just plugged in my in home display and noticed the credit has not changed in five days and the tarriff on the electricty is showing 0.00p Kwh.
Has the engineer not configured the system properly or is this a head end problem?

Well a call to British Gas I was informed it was the in home display not the meter, checked the meter still the same credit no standing charge another call to British Gas a call centre representative said it was the second time today a complaint was made and expecting a call back, they could however tell there was no money being deducted and was a technical problem, they just haven't been able to correct the problem.
There doesn't appear to be a flagging system in place at British Gas to meter issues and how many ill configured meters are there?Don't expect meter battery problems to be simply reported either by the same results.

Thanks Michaelw, good info about the lack of response from the best run supplier in the UK that even they don t take much notice of a smart meter fault which for the dishonest would result in no payments made even with the latest smart meters.
I ve found so many occupiers who have faulty dumb prepays who do not get in touch with the suppliers for years.
If their meters are allowing free energy they look upon it as a bonus, the last thing they will do is to ring the supplier and declare it . That sadly is how it works in the real world.
I fully expected the suppliers to be on the ball with a faulty prepay smart meter . Your evidence has proved me wrong even with BG..The little suppliers, like the Eversmarts etc have little chance of jumping on a smart meter in "giveaway " mode.
Many of the dumb prepay gas meters when the battery go s dead will shut down leaving the valve open, delivering unpaid gas.. That was the most common method of occupiers achieving a free energy household. Some would help it along a little by ripping the batteries out0 -
Unfortunatly my smart meter is still exhibiting the problem and is now unlikely to be resolved until next week although Britsh Gas did say that they should be able to fix the fault from their end that remains unclear, clearly no readings are being sent back to their systems either.British Gas replaced the Trilliant Hub that is when the problem developed. At least the supply is still on.0
