Council wont let me move into my new home and I’m homeless!

    It’s worth noting that if you do present yourself at the townhall (for eg) and say you’re homeless you’ll probably end up with a bed for the night. However that bed will probably be in a crisis hostel or similar and the experience might be traumatic. That’s putting it mildly. I’d only go down that route if I genuinely had no alternatives.

    I spent a night in the Station Mission in Cologne. It wasn't bad at all.

    Lucky! A relative of mine spent a week in a homeless hostel in London last year. It may as well have been a crack den with en suite pimp accommodation. After a week she was moved to a less awful hostel.
