Hi,
My Kelyess car was stolen this morning outside my ex wife house.
It was a £20k car and I'm extremely gutted and feel like s*** at the moment .
Although I have fully comp car insurance, I'm not sure if the insurance company will make excuses for not paying out because the car was not registered at my once martial home.
When me and the wife decided to spend time apart about 8 months ago, I moved back into my mum house which is where my car insurance policy is registered to but didn't transfer any other details over to my mum address apart from my bank account.
Everything else like bills and mortgage which is in my name, I've left it registered at the ex wife address as I support her and my kids financially.
Do you think the insurance company will turn around and say they won't pay out because my car wasn't at my mum house when it was stolen?
I also took out GAP insurance when I bought the car.

They may ask you to prove it's not kept at that address normally, rather than at your mother's. Especially if your mother's address has a 'better' postcode for rating purposes.0

Thanks for the replies. My mum also a named driver on the policy also. Just stressed really
To top it off the police didn't even bother coming out to take any details. It's really frustrating that you work so hard for things then someone comes along and takes it, regardless if it's a £20k car or a £2k car.Save Save Save:o

I think they used a relay box to get a signal from my Key as they were waving something around the window. When I bought the car I specifically asked the dealer about cars being stolen in this way and was told if I pressed the lock button twice on the key fob this will disable the keyless, how totally wrong they were.Save Save Save:o

Put the keys in an empty bean can or the microwave or dont buy a keyless car.0
