confirm claim settlement

had a bump dec 2017 driving my wifes car as a named driver, informed the insurance company admitted as being at fault (ran into rear of a van) but since then we have not heard anything from anyone regarding this (except the injury chasers)
would I or my wife expect to be informed of the outcome of this claim or do they not tell you the result as when you declare it you are asked for info regarding the claim thanks in advance for any replies

They dont bother to inform people now. This would mean thousands of man hours, time, stationery, postage. You can see their point. It would cost hundreds of thousands of pounds a year.
make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
