Life insurance with auto immune disease

I have one policy pre-diagnosis for type 1 diabetes that runs for another 10 years but it covers the mortgage only . I'm leaving my employer and a pension that offers a death in service payment and all things considered I wanted cover for £400k over 25 years as a joint policy for me and my wife (both 34)

My complications are in my medical history that I'm being honest about.

Type 1 diabetic with reasonable blood sugar levels
Diagnosed bulimic last year.
Have been treated for depression in the past.

No other risk factors

I'm struggling to get quotes so I've had to go through a specialist diabetes broker. He said based on my input he can only find one ins company willing to cover and its £98 p/m. I have absolutely no reference on whether this is a good quote or not as I cant get another quote..

Anyone else out there with diabetes, chrons etc that could give me an idea on how much I would expect to pay? Any brokers or ins reps with experience of this able to give me a ballpark?

Thanks all ♡

You've not provided nearly enough info for anyone to advise whether this is good value or not.

However, type 1 diabetes causes significant increases in premiums. Depending on the time since diagnosis, your HbA1c and whether there's been any complications such as retinopathy you'd be looking at a minimum increase of 50% to the premiums but since in the majority of cases T1 is diagnosed in the teens this increase could easily be 200%.

I'm actually more more surprised that a broker has found a provider based on the recent history of bulimia. I had a case recently with a client and most providers wanted to wait until at least 3-years since this has been resolved before offering cover, although 1-2 can IF it was very mild and had been resolved for over 12-months.

The depression could potentially be fine and cause no issues but conversely can cause applications to be forever declined were there's been multiple periods of suicidal ideation.

In short, £98 could be reasonable but who knows
