Employer's behaviour during notice period

Hi, if my employer starts to act unreasonably during the notice period after resigning, in an annoying way but nothing approaching constructive dismissal - eg insults (about work, also verging on the personal), giving an unreasonable amount of work, what are my recourses of action?

    Reference aside.
eg insults (about work, also verging on the personal)

you can ignore or use passive come backs or even more aggressive ones.

"Now you know why I am leaving"
giving an unreasonable amount of work,

"You know I can't do all of this in my hours, please prioritize what you do what done first and what can wait till tomorrow."

Push back politely on work insults
Politely leave the scene if the insult is personal - maybe say something like “that’s unacceptable, let’s pick this conversation up later when you are calmer”
Work your contracted hours only and if the work doesn’t get completed or doesn’t get completed. Let them know as it’s allocated that you probably don’t have capacity however.

How long is your notice period? My last employer was a tit when I handed in my notice - which astonished me as this had never happened to me before in 30 years! My notice period was 3 months and I had to be pretty assertive to endure it to the bitter end...

Do your best to ignore the comments and certainly don't react aggressively to them (they win if you do). Do what work you can during your normal hours and let them know there is too much, and what do they want doing first. At the end of each day go home and forget about the place, you don't have to put up with it much longer.

Try and focus on the happy fact that you only have to put up with the unpleasant muppet for a defined amount of time. Every day endured is one day less to go of their wretched company.

I know it's hard though - been there myself in the past.

    Best wishes. x

You can only really do what you would have done if your employer behaved this way before you handed in your notice. However you now have the benefit of knowing you don't have to put up with it for long.
Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!
