Insurance for underpinned house (buying new house)

Hi,

Does anyone who where I can buy insurance for a house that I am buying that was underpinned over 25 years ago? I am not able to go with the same insurance company as the current owner as the insurance company only insurer over 50's, which I am not.

Can you please help?

Thanks.

Try a comparison site, or try NFUMutual, believe they take them on.

As it's been 25 years since it was done, don't think there should be much bother getting insurance.

If the relevant question is: has it EVER been underpinned? then answer yes, but if the question says, for example "in the last 10 years" instead of ever, then answer no.

Try Direct Line as well - they are not on comparison sites and I vaguely recall that they only ask about subsidence in the last 10 years. I may be wrong on that, so obviously read the questions carefully.

Try Legal and General and Axa or Subsidence Advisory Bureau
