thats a fab price, ive tried that site but it keeps timing out!! need to book flights to goa as well.
it depends what u are looking for really!! Calangute/candolim areas are fairly busy, but lots to do. further out its quieter.
can recommend the Aldeio Bello hotel in baga/calangute, if that helps, basic but great staff. all hotels there are pretty basic, i like this one though.0 -
You have definitely booked flights to Goa (airport code GOI) and not Genoa (airport code GOA) haven't you? For your dates I'm getting prices of around £500 each for Goa and around £185 to Genoa. This space has been intentionally left blank0

I think the OP must be flying from Manchester as there are flights via Bahrain for their dates showing now at £196. Sorry if I worried you, redorfred :eek:This space has been intentionally left blank0

Just came from Goa last week.
Been to both end -
North is ok - i.e. Anjuna for night life - but its a bit overrated.
South is brilliant - i.e. Palolem - white sandy beaches, brilliant people - paradise!
Make sure you know whether its monsoon!
P.S. Forget about Panjim as its well crap.0 -
We stayed at Holiday Inn Resort, Mobur Beach, near Cavelossim in South Goa.
Mobur beach is so uncrowded, used mostly by Holiday Inn and Leela Palace clients. There are 4 or 5 beach shacks selling drinks and food. Our favourite was Sams, although Mikes, The fish Grill and Bettys were also good. We were in Curry heaven for a week.
If you go fishing, the chef at Sams will prepare and cook your catch for a small fee.
From what I gather the South of Goa is quieter and a bit more upmarket and the North is more lively.
We were there over Easter. It was incredible on the Saturday night as it approached Midnight leading up to Easter Sunday, we were in a taxi, to see thousands of locals all in their finest suits and dresses heading for chapel. Such poverty yet they were all dressed in their finest walking to Midnight Mass. GOA , a former Portugese colony is of predominantly Catholic religion, however it was refreshing and heartening as workers come from all parts of India during the tourist season, to see ALL religions living together in peace and harmony.
We can all learn so much from these wonderful gentle people.0
