Why do Sellers put up with so much?

I can't believe how many sellers on here are having to put up with naive, stroppy, foot stomping buyers with an over-inflated sense of entitlement, who think they have some god-given right to 'specify', yes, "SPECIFY" a moving date. Buyers need to understand that chains are complex things that do not revolve around any one person. Don't have a tantrum just because the world doesn't revolve around you!!

I don't think it's a question of specifying, just not being left dangling after they've made a valid/fair/accepted offer. Many sellers then just dangle the buyer endlessly while seeking their "perfect house".
The love affair is over.... the love's gone .... just sell it and move on.0 -
Just to add.. Buyers should move into rental properties not rush chains just because it's more comfortable to them. If you are lucky enough to buy, be patient! Don't rush a seller just because you haven't got anywhere to go0

So practically every buyer in Scotland is a "naive, stroppy, foot stomping buyers with an over-inflated sense of entitlement", then ... ?
If a Scots buyer offers, they offer a specific price, with an offer that (typically) includes a specific entry date, which outlines the applicable contract terms, and defines any inclusions or exclusions in terms of fixtures and fittings. It's all pretty much done and dusted at the offer stage, and buyers and sellers KNOW WHERE THEY STAND and can make specific arrangements upon such.
We manage to do this on a daily basis, and I don't see why E&W could not adopt the same.0 -

There's lots of things that should remain north of the wall. This is one of them0 -

Many decide not to sell if they can't find somewhere to go. Don't see why they should be forced out to accommodate a buyer. Many still love their houses but want space and might decide to stay put and extend after realising they can't afford what they actually want.
So you want to be able to accept an offer to buy your house, but decide later on, at a date unspecified, whether or not to actually sell it ... ?0
