Bad Agencies - name and shame.

I work in construction and am with a few Agencies. Whilst most of them are good, a couple of them are less than professional.

Jark - Set me up with a run of work 30 miles away from my front door. Turned up on day 2 to be met by the site manager who was surprised to see me as he had phoned the Agency to stand me down. The agency failed to contact me, so I wasted fuel and time.

Vision Personnel - Offered me a long run of work. Turned up on day 1 to be told by site manager that they already had a handyman. It appears this is standard practice for Vision to send 2 people for each placement with the first to arrive getting the job.

I think you need to be careful doing this. The experiences you've mentioned are valid, of course, but you are in danger of libel(?) - maybe - by naming names.

I'm sure others will know more than I do, and maybe tell me I'm wrong, but I thought it worth just mentioning it....!

I agree with Wyndham that you need to be very careful about the claims you are making. The sections not in bold are simply factual statements. The sections in bold are opinion, or subject to dispute.

The agency in the first example may claim they tried to contact you but you didn't respond. The 2nd example is purely your opinion unless you can find any hard evidence to support what you are saying.
I'm not saying that what you are saying isn't true, I don't know, simply that unless you have concrete evidence you do lay yourself open to action by the agencies.

Did a weeks work for them went okay. Finished at 5.00 pm on Friday and assume if they didnt want me for the following week they would at least have the courtesy to tell me before I finished on that Friday

I Walked into work 2 miles on the following Monday only to be told I wasnt required. Agency lied to me trying to tell me they tried to contact me on my mobile at weekend not to turn up. They did not contact me and I had no missed calls or voicemail. I would have had more respect for them if they would have just been honest and said they forgot to contact me

That wasnt the end of it as I asked to at least be compensated for the Monday and be paid for it after walking 2 miles into work when I was sent me home which I thought was reasonable but they wasnt having it.

So Best connection agency a bad agency as they lie to their candidates.

Employment agencies have to be licensed and follow a code of practice. If they don't, follow the appropriate complaints procedure.
