Car insurance cheaper with 2nd person?

I am about to renew my car insurance with my provider, and also the wealth of Comparison sites.

Is it cheaper to declare and put on a partner on an insurance policy from the start when getting quotes? or is it easier to just go solo on my own insurance, even though hers would cover her for driving my vehicle?

Thank you

Your partners insurance would only cover her third party only, so if she crashed in your car, your damage wouldn't be covered.

Why don't you do two quotes, one with and one without and see which is better value?
You'll find me sat in the corner with a pack of dry roasted and a Guinness.
