Had bad experiences at Heathrow or Gatwick - sign a petition

Hi,

A friend of mine has organised a petition on the PM's website to urge BAA to impove their service at Heathrow/Gatwick. If you are often going through these airports and would like to sign the petition, then please go to:

http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/BAAService/

Feel free to post the link to friends, other boards, etc.

(I hope isn't against the board rules - it is not a commercial link).

Why can't they just write and complain to BAA ?

I'm not even going to look at the Petition, it's a bloody stupid idea!

I travel to Canada a lot from both Heathrow and Gatwick. I've never had a problem with anything and I think that they do a great job considering how many passengers they have to deal with.

Do the government not have more important things to deal with?

The national security element of the airport should of course be a priority, but otherwise, I really do not see the need for government intervention.
    Gone ... or have I?

We waited one and a half hours for our bags at Gatwick in August.

Never had a problem at Heathrow, given that its one of the busiest in the world its no great surprise that there are queues. I have waited hours longer in security lines at Chicago, JFK, San Diego and Las Vegas.

The no 10 petition is just a gimic. They do what they want anyway. All you get at the end is a reply in political speak as to why they arent going to do anything about what you petitioned for ,even though the whole population of UK signed it, as "Governnment policy is we will apportion funds as and when we feel neccessary"
In respect of the "Green " doubling of airline tax, and the request that all the extra revenue went to "green " projects., the reply was basically- once we get the money, we will do what we like with it.It all goes into the pot and if we want to use it to build weapons of mass desrtruction , we will.
Thanks for signing a No 10 petition
