5 nights in Milan???????????????? blimey, hope you are planning on some hotel time.....
Milan is a bit of a dump (i wanted to come home the same day), i would recommend another destination. failing that, try breaking up the stay with a night or 2 in Bergamo ( a preferred option for many), Milan iteself (one night did us and we had exhausted it) and then Lake Como. You can get a train from central station (watch your wallets) to Como st vincent (i think) and it is a beautiful area. dont spend all the time in Milan or you will be climbing the walls. take plenty spending money,0 -
You should book to see the Da Vinci last supper. try and find a direct website and not a rip off tour company0

Personally I loved Milan. But the old town of Bergamo is even more wonderful. And Lake Como is also beautiful, even in the depths of winter. Anyway, I suggest you get hold of a guidebook (check out your local library).
There is a cheap youth hostel in Milan, but it may be closed over Christmas.
For transport between Bristol and London, check out https://www.fgw.com for fast trains to Paddington (look for single fares for the lowest prices); Megatrain for the slower trains to Waterloo, and Megabus and National Express.
Have a wonderful time.0 -
There are frequent trains, (and tickets are cheap) out of Milan's spectacular Centrale station. Bergamo; (already mentioned) go there! Genoa (about 1 and 1/2 hours away) and Verona (1 and 1/2 hours away) are accessible for day trips. In other words; don't waste too much time in Milan.Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. - Proust0

Museums are shut on Mondays.
The station itself is quite a nice building.
The Duomo is under recontruction outside but is still open and you can get on the roof.
The fashion district is quite good for a bit of window shopping and checking out the strange (fashionable) clothes.
The Galleria across from the Duomo is nice to have a look around.
Sunday was antique market day down by the river which was nice to have a look around but we didn't see anything to buy.
Lots of churches to invesitgate, the large house and gardens are good as well - can't think of what its called.
A guide book will be your friend. Ebay or charity shop or maybe library.
We also did Bergamo as thats where flights from Leeds go to and it was nice in the high town.
Como was recommended to us but we didn't get there.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0
