Help with 3

HI
I am currently on a pay as you go on 3 but would like to move to a contract with them? Any ideas if I can still keep my current number? Also my dad has a contract with 3 but would like to get a better deal with them that is not offered to current customers - will he have to go as a new customer and therefore a new number?
thanks for any help

You can move onto contract with them via a roundabout route of getting a PAC code to move your number across to another network, say Virgin, and then move the number back onto 3 on contract. You can get good deals with half or reduced price line rental that way.

You can probably call 3 up to get onto contract, but the deal will not be as good (though I've not tried this).
