received a call from a company, even though i instructed them to contact me by email only

It is very similar to what happened to me. This was a company i purchased products from, and expressed quite clearly that i did not want any marketing calls. I did send the company a email, and received this, today:

Dear @@@@

Thank you for your recent email dated 05-11-18.

Please accept my apology for all the disappointment caused in this matter.

I understand that you wish not to be contacted via phone. I also understand your frustration regarding the receipt of a marketing call while at work on your Mobile. I have made the necessary changes on your account and rest assured you will not be receiving any more marketing calls and strictly be contacted via email.

We always strive to create a positive customer experience and situations like these are few and rare.

We apologise for any disappointment this may cause you. Thank you for your time and patience.
