Muse access...

Hi all,

Am on reading week at the moment and am having a mini moment of crisis. I am trying to (finally) make some headway on my dissertation and have hit a stumbling block :o

I have a working title of 'Society, Gender and Sexuality in the Fairytales of Oscar Wilde'. I have found an article on Muse that I think would be very useful, thing is, MMU (the wonderful Uni I attend) do not subscribe to Muse.. have tried via Athens and it throws me out. Anyone have any idea of how I can get my hands on this article?? Have had a look on our library website and they don't subscribe to the journal either

It's called :Creating the Sensual Child: Paterian Aesthetics, Pederasty, and Oscar Wilde's Fairy Tales - Naomi Wood
Marvels & Tales - Volume 16, Number 2, 2002, pp. 156-170

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks,
Sarah xx

Fistly, find out which university libraries are within easy travelling distance of where you are. Then look at their on-line catalogues to find one that has a hard copy of the relevant journal issue. Then just go there to read it in the library.

(It might be worth telephoning the library to ensure that they allow visiting students to refer to its collection, and ensure that you bring any pieces of paper that they require.)

looks like GaleGroup and Literature Online also provide access - does MMU give access to them? just checked at Manchester Uni's library but they only have electronic access. the author's website doesn't have a pdf either, but if you email them to ask for a copy, they may be able to email you one (although don't expect an immediate reply!)

  • Hi there,

I managed to get a copy of the article you are after in PDF form. If you still need it, just PM me and we can sort out how to get it to you.
