Lack of bargaining, normal?
Hi all,
Did my 3 yearly walk around the mobile shops for our new phones today. I normally work out what I want, then challenge them all to beat the best deal. It always used to work.
Made sure I went out late, wet day, thinking this would help if they had day targets they had to hit, but not one shop would budge from their set prices. And no interest whatsoever in trying to obtain new business. I thought with a saturated market you read that they'd be trying to get me to join from rival networks.
Is this the norm now, or did I just choose the wrong time?

I got a good deal on a Galaxy S8 on Black Friday last year, well it was on the day before. November 23rd this year. A lot of the best deals throughout the year appear online but not all the time.0

What were you trying to get?
If you were after the latest and greatest phone from Samsung or Apple then not a chance of a bargain.
Were you being realistic?0 -
I suspect the best deals are reserved for online, it's far easier for the networks to control. There may be a good time of the month to barter as well.0
