The changing colours of the Capability Brown landscape at Bowood House and Gardens are showing the first signs of autumn. The landscape designer's encircling belts of trees tune into autumn as their seasonal crimsons, scarlets, oranges and golds emerge.

Bowood House and Gardens will be embracing the great outdoors with a line-up of treats for all ages. Take a tour of Lord and Lady Lansdowne's private four-acre Walled Garden on Wednesday 3rd October and discover how the gardeners prepare the garden for the harsh winter weather. Following the tour, enjoy a warming, seasonal, two course lunch in the Stables Restaurant.

Throughout the October half term, our Autumn Animal Trail takes you around the Estate with several scarecrows and their favourite animal friends nestled amongst a backdrop awash of autumnal colours. Running from Thursday 25th October to Monday 29th October, the route will take you around Bowood House's distinctive terraces, before looping around the pleasure grounds and back to the Adventure Playground. Children will enjoy the immersive, educational side of the trail with animal facts and a harvest festival theme from 11am to 4pm daily.

Join us on the 30th and 31st of October for a Halloween without the spooks and scares. A range of arts and crafts activities in the Gardener's Bothy will be available for the children to drop in and get creative with over the two days.
