I quite like my iPhone SE. The size and performance suit me.
Today Apple announced their very expensive new iPhones and have dropped the SE and offer nothing in the size and price range of the SE...
When mine fails, it won't be replaced by another iPhone.

I take it you will move over to Android then ?0 -

Reluctantly, yes. Although I don't care for Google and their snooping... nor do I like the generally lower level of security. But equally the iPhone prices are beyond a joke now. Maybe there will be a new version of the SE out next year?
I was under the impression the reasonable size and price of the SE made it quite a good seller.0 -

Yip I was surprised they dropped it. Maybe it wasn’t the big seller that people thought as their average selling price keeps going up over the past few years.
I noticed curry’s were selling them for £240 tonight. Could you not buy one the now as at least you can get iOS 12 running on it. Keep as a back up or something?0 -

Myself and my OH already have an iPhone SE each. When they eventually run out of steam and need replacement, unless Apple wake up and realise that some customers don't want a phone the size of a small iPad at a huge cost, then it's goodbye to Apple for us.0 -

I would be very surprised if they decided to bring out a new design of phone at the same price and size of the SE in the future if the market is not big enough.
I would say though that the 4.7” iPhone 7 at £450 is not a bad price in relation to a 4” SE at £350. But I understand and respect if price and size is important and if apple don’t supply that market then android will take it.
Update/
In fact it wouldn’t surprise me if at some point the likes of Argos or Curry’s sell the iPhone 7 under £4000 -
Apple have made a conscious decision not to compete at the lower or mid range of the market with the up and coming brands such as Huawei and Xiaomi. They've already been pushed into 3rd by Huawei in global sales recently.
Everyone said that the iPhone X wouldn't sell at $999: they were wrong. They are going for margin not volume, and I wouldn't bet against them.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Yeah I wouldn’t bet against Apple when it comes to how they plan their phone strategy (laptops different story). They have the luxury of having a massive difference in product compared to anything in the android world. They own their own software, services like Apple Music, app store and can design other products (airpods, watch) to complement the phone and have their own shops to add overall customer value.
The hardware and software of android is great but with not big difference it’s more cut throat and it will be interesting to see how Samsung compete with the likes of Huawei, xiaomi and oneplus.0 -
One way to access iPhones could be to pick a used one. Never going to buy these new ones though. No phone should cost 15000

I agree.
Even if I had the money in the bank I'd rather spend £1,500 on something that'll be around in a few years timeIt's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
