For real? So claims companies are actually pursuing claims against the very people they're claiming to be aiding now?

Yes. Plenty of them have a contract term that allows them to bill for admin if you time waste. We have seen people post here about being billed that way.
Why is this not more widely reported?

Most quirks are not widely reported. Pension scams have been going on for over a decade. yet it is only now that the regulator has decided to make people aware of it.
This is the first I've heard of 'admin fees' being chased from unsuccessful claims against the claimants.

You make it sound as if the claims companies are meant to be on the customer's side.

They don't 'aid' anyone apart from themselves.

I appreciate that they're all in it for the money but assumed there were at least a few win win scenarios where claims companies were concerned.

Excuse my lack of cynicism anyway. Though it was that which bought me here to question it before submitting any documents.

I win anyway, because I have already wasted their time on the phone if I'm not going to follow through.

I haven't seen them. I don't often get time to post here TBH. But thanks.

The claims firm want your details so they can send off complaints to everyone else in the hope you had a policy on another product you weren't aware of so they can get some money, the lie about extra money is just to hook you in

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

  • Thanks everyone for the helpful advice. I was ready to push the button on getting them involved but it looks like you've saved me from making a mistake.
  • Sorry to bump this again but.

I keep getting calls from Help Your Claims Ltd. And they repeatedly tell me they won't charge me at all if there is a no win.

I keep telling them that I've made a successful claim already, but they keep then telling me that the 'banks have been re-investigated' for not paying out enough and I could get more.

I then tell them so what if there is a no win. And they tell me there will be no charge, but if I don't try and claim more I could be losing out on a lot more money.

How do I know who to trust??

Block the number, they know the deadline is coming for PPI complaints so as I said above, they are hoping to get lucky with something you missed. If banks find they have a fault with their payout process they will review the complaint automatically and pay you any extra. The regulator and even the press cover these issues.

Thanks but how can I trust the banks to do this?

Why are they telling me banks have been re-investigated? Ar they just lying? Should I report them to the financial authorities for lying?

I just don't trust anything anyone says anymore :(

    Because you can trust them.

Claims companies employ students and mums earning commission for getting people to sign up. If they dont get enough sign ups, they get sacked or ridiculed in front of others.

They are parasites that are soon going to be regulated (rather too late).

It's been explained but you appear not to believe the replies you've had, so if you wish, just go ahead sign yourself up to a CMC if that's what you want. I wouldn't recommend it though . . . :)
