Chased by debt collectors even though we bought a ticket

Hi, would welcome advice on an ongoing issue over a parking fine from NCP car parks. I bought a ticket while my partner was parking his vehicle. I entered in the last three digits of the vehicle as requested but the system did not recognise the vehicle. I then entered the full registration and paidW
for parking using my debit card. When the fine was received we appealed stating that we had evidence of payment. NCP rejected the appeal stating that only the last 3 digits of the registration were entered and we did not pay in time, both false claims. My partner was then pursued by a debt collection company, we rejected the charge in writing and provided a copy of my bank statement with account details blanked out. The company then contacted my partner to advise that the charge was not for non-payment but for over-long length of stay. Again we provided evidence from the original fine that we had left the car park on the same day as we parked and had paid for Saturday parking. My partner has now received a letter from a solicitors threatening court action for non-payment. He has cancer and is worried sick that they will take him to court and wants to pay the fine. Is there any more action we can take?
Many thanks

You might get a few more until the idiots give up.
If NCP contact you come back here
Retain all proof and if (and it's if) NCP proceed to court
as they have ignored you, let the judge give them a whooping
and then claim costs
Is the debt collector DRP ???
You ignore them, you do not contact them
THEY ARE POWERLESS RETARDS
Nothing to worry about, keep in touch0 -
debt collectors cannot take you or him to court, they are powerless
they can recommend that NCP do so, so NCP or their solicitors can issue a court case , within 6 years of the event
so what ? its only a civil case and if the defendant lost in court all that would happen is a judge will say pay blah blah to the claimant , typically around £175
then the defendant pays it off within one month , job done
if the defendant wins , they pay nothing
he is not a criminal, its not a serious charge like rape or murder or anything, its a civil case heard by a judge in chambers
complain to your local MP for starters0 -
Thank you! OH feels better now as he was worried sick. Debt collection company is ZZPS and solicitor is QDR who are threatening a CCJ.0
-
they can threaten all they like , but if NCP or their solicitors decide to issue a court claim, he can defend it, if he loses then pay the full amount awarded by the judge within one month to get the CCJ struck off
you say he is worried ? why ?
worried about what ?
its not a criminal offence, no prison time, no sex offenders register , no rocks to break, they wont take your kids or the dog or the hamster or the car , its just money , usually about £175 if he loses , which he should pay in full, promptly
think of it as like Judge Rinder , but more civilised and not for the cameras , more like a tribunal
no idea why people get "worried" about it , concerned yes , mainly due to fear having never been through it
the time to be "worried" is if Operation Yew Tree had arrested him like say Rolf Harris or Stuart Hall , now that aspect would be worrying
relax, IGNORE the debt collectors and come back if he gets an official LBC or an MCOL in the post0 -
