Moving jobs do i inform tax credits?

Hello

This relates to child tax credit only as i dont receive working tax credit.

Basically i am handing in my notice at my current job and taking a new job elsewhere. Same salary and same hours. Between my notice ending and my new job starting there will be a 1 week gap in employment

Do i need to inform child tax credits about this or is it ok to continue as normal?

When you say don't get wtc do you mean because your income is too high? Or you don't work enough hours to qualify?

Income is too high so we only recieve child tax credit.

Your work details are therefore included on your claim and working tax credit elements included in the calculation so yes you need to report any changes to your work.

Thanks. When would be best? After my first day at new job? Or before i move?

You need to report the change within 30 days. I'd call once you've started the new job.
