Hi all,

*forum/mse newbie here*
After skimming the newbies thread and searching this forum/googling i found there to be a lack of information regarding !!!8216;Advanced Warning!!!8217; of parking charge notices, which is why i have made a new thread.

The Advanced Warning was left on my cars windscreen after the driver parked in the car park of a clinic which his girlfriend intended to visit. The car park had no pay and display, only a sign stating that you may only park here whilst on the premises. His girlfriend went into the clinic whilst the driver ran an errand in town which is approximately a 5-10 min walk away. Once the driver had got into town the driver received a call from her saying that there was no one able to see her, and that she would meet the driver in town and they would walk back together. They ended up eating in town, and were away from the the car approximately an hour and a half. As stated previously driver found a yellow bag with parking notice enclosed printed on it. I have been told by many people that you can often avoid paying PCN!!!8217;s, and took a photo of the sign for reference as i have no intention of paying the charge, when it arrives.

I will include pictures of the sign and the Warning. Any advice on what route i should take and what action i should take is much appreciated, and if have missed a thread relevant to me please let me know.

EDIT: as a new user i cannot post a link, please remove spaces so the link works

Edit your post to remove information about who did what. Only ever refer to The Driver, The Keeper, or An Occupant, who are different people. ;) The keeper has protections in law that the driver does not, which is why the driver's identity should not be revealed, not even on here.

Once you have edited, please read the Sticky thread for NEWBIES, wait for the NTK, then send the appeal template you will find there.

The sign is a complete and utter failure of the large lettering and Lord Denning's Red Hand Rule. Oh dear, how sad, never mind.

    please read the Sticky
    Not
    skimming the newbies thread
You need a full understanding to deal with this effectively and successfully. It won't be achieved by a 'skim'.

It's not rocket science, but by the same token, it's not painting by numbers either - in order to kill this off for you.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • Cheers fruitcake- post edited. And I saw the template on the sticky, i think my real question was timing; shall i send the appeal now, or wait to actually receive the notice?
    Thanks for the reply.

Have you read the newbies faq thread properly yet??

    That covers your question

Note in the FAQ the futility of appeals to IPC companies so do also follow the advice on also making a complaint to the company involved in employing the PPC - which looks to be the clinic you mention
  • pre notice "my £ss" *

the warden was on site and ISSUED it , it cannot replicate the NTK that will be received

no such thing as Pre notice , its a %^&*ing ticket* with CORRECT details placed on the car or its a ticket by ANPR method

In the Newbies thread there is a bit that says
Q - ''My windscreen notice says it's 'NOT A PCN' from 'myparkingcharge.co.uk' so is it a PCN?''

A - YES AND NO! THIS IS DISCUSSED ON OTHER THREADS - SEARCH THE FORUM FOR 'myparkingcharge.co.uk'

This is what your ticket is.

This is what your ticket is.

different company and they get away with it by saying this "might" be a ticket , with a reference and a web page to check , this company have pushed the boundaries of legality

I agree with waamo, the concept is exactly the same as the VCS/Excel fake PCNs.

Wait for the NTK. NO APPEAL YET.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
