Yorkshire Building Society weekend upgrade offline - Memories of TSB?

Just received the following email from Yorkshire Building Society.
Over the weekend of 7-8 July Norwich & Peterborough (N&P) Savings Accounts and N&P branches will become Yorkshire Building Society (YBS) Savings Accounts and YBS branches and agencies. So that we can make these changes we will need to temporarily suspend some of our services over the weekend of 7-8 July whilst we add N&P accounts and branches to our YBS systems.

Services that will be affected

All YBS branches and agencies that open on a Saturday will close at midday on Saturday 7 July and reopen as normal on Monday 9 July

YBS ATM cards will be temporarily suspended from 4.30am to 12.30pm on Sunday 8 July. Please make sure you have withdrawn any money you need for the weekend on Saturday 7 July

The YBS website (including online banking and secure messages) will be temporarily unavailable from 5.00am to 3.00pm on Sunday 8 July. Please make sure you have made any payments out of your account before this time.

We appreciate this could cause some inconvenience and we have worked hard to minimise this disruption to services, however it is necessary to allow us to change N&P Savings Accounts and branches to YBS.

I do hope it goes smoother that TSB's move, but would still suggest withdrawing sufficient cash and such if needed in advance. Hopefully everyone has a second bank account for personal resiliency.

I doubt it is anything like TSB's 'weekend' exercise.

That was migration of several legacy computer systems to one completely new one.

This sounds like a re-branding exercise. Not (necessarily) anything to do with changing software.

B is Yorkshire Bank isn't it, it's a completely different organisation to Yorkshire Building Society.

I had a failed ATM withdrawal from my YBS account this morning, I wasn't sure whether they'd started their changes early or if it was just a temporary glitch - I meant to try again later but forgot so I'll need to do it when I'm out this evening.
