Universal Credit - when will i know if I'm actually entitled?

Hi all, I've made a claim online, visited the JC etc. On my Journal it says if i'm entitled to UC I will be paid in 7 days.
Nobody though seems to be able to answer the question as to when I will actually find out if I am entitled to receive UC.
Can anybody shed any light?

It is all a bit erm unsettlingly vague isn't it!
If your payment date is in 7 days, when you log in to UC is there a payments tab? (in amongst the 'report a change', 'add a note' 'guide' etc tabs)
At some point today it should tell you there how much you'll receive within the next 7 days, and there's a breakdown of the amount if you click on the payment0 -
Today? Great there hasn't been a payments tab so far but I will check now. And yes extremely vague and unsettling!0

No, no payments tab yet. But in the Home section there is a guide which I've just looked at. It says I wont know until a 'few days' before my payment date if I'm entitled or not.
So still vague :-)0 -
You should find out how much 7 days before payment, which is the day after the end of the assessment period0

I'm not surprised they dont state that in the guide though. Presumably they like some leeway for their own ends.
Anyway fingers crossed and thank you for responding0 -
So still no payments tab showing, however I did receive a notification to sign into my UC account this morning. It was a 'note' telling me 'this is the list of benefits that affect Universal Credit, you are not receiving any of them'
Random!0 -
Payment tab should show about 4 days ahead of payment due date.
The reason they can't tell you exactly until a few days before payment date, is that sometimes there are still processing actions to be taken or calculations. You can have claims with various deductions that need to be worked out, housing waiting to be verified with landlords etc.
If the payment tab is not on the claim 3 days before payment, contact the Case Manager by journal. And if stiil nothing showing a day before payment, call the Universal Credit helpline. But do call early (before 10:00, as the line can be very busy). The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0 -
Thank you for responding. I've just logged on and the payments tab is now there I'm happy to say.0
