Carers Allowance Question

Hi Everyone,
Grateful for your thoughts on this. I've had a look at the application form for Carers Allowance and am a bit surprised at the questions on there and wonder what their thinking is.
For example, they want written proof of how much you paid into your pension from your salary. I can get this but it seems strange to me that they need to know this.
They want to know what your final salary amount was and whether there is a redundancy payment etc. Now I can understand this if you are claiming means tested benefits and I understand Carers Allowance is means tested in that you cannot earn more than xx amount if you receive it but what has it got to do with them if you did get a redundancy payment or paid into a pension in a job you have just left?
I obviously will provide this info but I can't fathom the logic in it. Can someone help me to understand it please.
Many thanks

One condition is that you don't earn over £120 a week (after deductions). Deductions include 50% of your pension contributions. Hence the Q re pension payments.Alice Holt Forest situated some 4 miles south of Farnham forms the most northerly gateway to the South Downs National Park.0
