Do they have Attendance allowance etc in the Netherlands?

I know this may be a funny question but I felt that someone may be able to help me here

Maybe there are some Dutch people on here. Does anybody know if they get things like Attendance allowance and carers allowance in the Netherlands?

My father (80 years old) lives in the Netherlands and has done for 30 plus years. He has emphasema and so is diabled but he is also very stubborn and says they dont have any benefits for him. He and my stepmum over there are very hard up.

I just spoke to him on Skype and he says there is nothing they can get but my past experience of the Netherlands when I visit him has been that they do a lot of things very similar to the UK so that if there is one allowance or benefit we get here they will probably have something very similar in place.

My mother and stepfather over here who is disabled get Attendance allowance but not Careres allowance as my mothers savings were too high. I mention this so that you can see I have some knowledge of these benefits over here although I'm no expert.

Any info appreciated. I tried Googling it but with little success.
