Deceased husband's annuity

My husband passed away 3 months ago and had an annuity. The company have told me because he was under 75, I do not have to pay tax on the annuity. He was only 63. Is this a recent tax change and is it correct?

Thanks

Yes that's correct. Rules changed in April 2015 at the same time as the pension reforms.
