Have been unable to use since the afternoon.

Is MSE with this Denial Of Service attack & the internet collapsing ??

I am in Eastbourne. Its been down for hours now. None of their web sites will load and I can't get mail via any route at all.
this could be the end of life as we know it!!

Tiscali are always down - this is why I left them. My brother always had an issue with them too. (Both of us live in London). Absolutely atrocious. I left because I got fed up of having a dowload speed of 0.1KBPS.

I'd suggest you move to a new ISP unless you're locked in a contract.
