Child Benefits While At University

Hi,
My daughter who is 18 is due to finish her a levels and leave school in the next month.
She is due to start university in September but will be still living at home with me and my wife.
I was under the impression that I would stop receiving child benefit for her as soon as she leaves but in speaking to a friend they said that you can still carry on receiving CB for her while at university as long as she is still living at home.
Is this the case.
Many thanks for your time.

Your impression is correct
Approved education
Education must be full-time (more than an average of 12 hours a week supervised study or course-related work experience) and can include:
A levels or similar - eg Pre-U, International Baccalaureate
Scottish Highers
NVQs and other vocational qualifications up to level 3
home education - if started before your child turned 16
traineeships in England
Courses are not approved if paid for by an employer or ‘advanced’, eg a university degree or BTEC Higher National Certificate.

Her CB will cease on the last Monday of August, it doesn't not apply for those in advanced education i.e degrees.
Of course even if living at home she will be eligible for a student loan.0
