So are you re-thinking turning up and want to request a paper hearing, in your absence too? Or are you going along, definitely? You need to decide in the morning and let the court know if you too will not be there.

G's sent theirs less than 7 days before the Hearing Date, so you can too if quick. And include your costs schedule in the same letter and hand deliver it to court before 2pm Friday (email to Gs).

Only if you are sure your case is strong and your filed papers are good enough to win it.

Thank you for your support.

I did not request for a Hearing on Papers as I want to be there in person.

Graduation is later during the day, though 2 hours away by train.

Though such an inconvenience, I will be attending Court. My other family members will attend the Graduation. Worst case scenario is that I will get there just after the Ceremony finishes. We will buy and watch the video later.

See my post at #20

The first sentence is the key one.

Thank you for your support.
I will be attending the Hearing.

I will be attending the Hearing having "waded in so far, that going back would be as good as go 'oer"

That's good to know but don't waste the opportunity. The judge may be like a fast bowler whose questions are designed to get to the facts quickly. Or you could be lucky and get the spot before lunch and have it waived through. You'll need to prepare for the bowlers though.

Thanks to all for the support. Special thanks to Coupon-Mad, nosferatu1001, Loads of Children, IamEmanresu, nigelbb and Umkomaas for the very helpful contributions.
Neither Gs nor their Client attended.

Now on way to son's Graduation and should make it there.

Costs awarded.

Once again, thanks to all!

Costs awarded.

Drinks all round then. You'll be proud of your son and he should be proud of you.

Can you give us a fuller report, once the celebrations have died down?
Ensure they mee tthe likely 14 day deadline, if you dont you can cause them even more issues!

Thanks nosferatu 1001.

I filed my Schedule of Costs with the court in person and copied to Gladstones.

I prepared a number of Questions and Answers just as I would have had Gladstones not given Notice of Non-attendance of their Client (which I construed to mean Gladstones could still attend and represent their client in their absence).

I got to the court 40 minutes before time. The case was listed as the judge's second hearing in the morning for the time slot. Gladstones didn!!!8217;t turn up.

I did not have to answer any questions. The judge said he was going to cancel the claim and award me with my costs. He handed back my clearly labelled colourful folder with dividers/partitions. Within minutes, the case was dismissed. I immediately remembered IamEmanresu!!!8217;s post at #45!!!8220;Or you could be lucky and get the spot before lunch and have it waived through!!!8221;.

I got to the afternoon Graduation Ceremony just as they were about to start.

I now await the Court report.

Once again, thanks to all for your invaluable inputs :T
