Tsb again

My regular saver has matured and I need this money ASAP to pay in advance for an operation. I have tried unsuccessfully to move the regular saver to my main account with the intention of then moving it to Halifax in order to write a cheque to the hospital for my op.

Does anyone think if I go into my local TSB Bank that they will issue me a cheque so that I can then go to Halifax, deposit it, wait however many days it takes for a cheque to clear then send a cheque to the hospital. What a palaver.

I do not walk very well as I’m in lots of pain, hence having an operation privately, so walking up a slight hill to the local TSB Branch won’t be easy but the alternative might be the op being cancelled as it won’t go ahead I’d they are not paid in advance.

5anks for any help.

Have you tried calling them to see if they have any suggestions?

I think they should be able to issue a cheque. If not I!!!8217;d ask for a bankers draught payable to the hospital. There!!!8217;s usually a £20 charge but I!!!8217;d expect this to be waived.

Thanks for that suggestion. I didn’t know about that. I expect a very long wait on the phone though. Better than nothing though.

You might be able to make the transfer using the phone banking automated service. If not advisers are available til 11pm (maybe longer due to the problems) and might save you a trip to branch even if there is a wait to get through.

Thanks knack 92, will try your suggestion tomorrow after 1 more try to do it via internet banking. I need to do exactly the same with my husbands account but of course they won!!!8217;t speak to me until speaking to him and it becomes a real pain in the butt as he can!!!8217;t always answer their questions as I do all our banking. By the way he is fully aware that I am using both his and my regular saver to pay for this op.

Up and looking at TSB at 6am this morning and my account showed the matured funds were moved into an easy saver account. I transferred the funds I needed to Halifax without a problem so that is a relief. I didn’t look at statements or direct debit payments but I will later this morning.

Thanks for those who responded to my message.
