I am looking at taking a family annual travel insurance policy. We are looking to go away as a family during the summer and then both my wife and I will be going on separate trips later in the year. A family policy does cover trips where just one member is traveling doesn't it? I haven't seen this explicitly stated on any documents I have found online so far.

Thanks,
Paul

Check the wording in the policy to be sure before buying (or contact the chosen insurer for confirmation)

As mentioned by Quentin check the policy.

Independent travel by spouses does not tend to be covered by the cheaper policies.

It is often mentioned in the features and benefits or you may find in if you check the policy wording under the "definitions" or "Meanings of words" under the defintion of "Family" or "Insured Persons"
