Help my daughter improve her credit?
My daughter is 20 and in University. She has recently applied for 2 mobile phone contracts (both low value £8 and £12 per month) and been rejected. Her credit score is low due to never having had credit but how is she supposed to improve her score if no-one will give her any credit? She is reluctant to get a credit card so any other suggestions will be very welcome.

That is strange if there is nothing else at issue, my daughter successfully took out a contract shortly after her 18th birthday as her first credit agreement without any issues.
As someone already asked, is she on the Electoral Register?
Has she had any issues with any other factors that could influence a credit check (like her bank)?====0 -
She's not looking to improve the score, since it doesn't exist.
The needs to build and improve her credit history0 -
If she's not on the electoral register at the address she's putting on the applications, she needs to register asap.
Also she can get one of those credit rating boosting credit cards but only if she can trust herself with it and only if she sets up an automatic direct debit repayment in full every month.
If she can't get a contract phone then she could buy a sim free phone outright and get a payg sim that has monthly bundles.0
