I posted the message below yesterday but haven't had any replies yet, does anyone have any advice. I would really appreciate your thoughts onthis offer.................
Has anyone else had a letter from RBS in relation to a claim against Natwest?
I originally wrote to them last November. They made an offer in Feb 07 for charges but no interest or costs. I declined and then went down the court route but was still waiting for a date when ruling made.
Today I have received a letter (by registered post) from RBS re- offering me the Feb goodwill gesture (roughly £2100).......
Shall I accept or hang on for the full amount (about £3000 including interest)
I am interested if this has happened to anyone else or your thoughts???
Thanks

According to your previous posts your claim is for £2100 so they have offered you the full amount. It appears from your posts you haven't been asking for a court date and its somewhat unusual that you haven't had one as you sent in an AQ so I would think you are pretty lucky to still have this offer on the table as it sounds as if your court claim has gone missing in the system.0

Thanks for replies.
My original claim was for £2030 + about £550 interest.
I completed an AQ and was up to the point where Natwest had to supply an amended defence specifically dealing with sums claimed. Natwest had to respond by 17 August or the defence would be struck out and judgement may have been entered with fixed costs and interest. Then the ruling happened!!!
At this point in time my claim now includes:
Original Charges = £2030
Interest = £773.87
Plus costs of £220
Grand total = £3003.87
I am tempted to write to them and offer to settle in full for £2500 but not sure what your thoughts would be Edinburghlass.....
I am surprised noone else has had the same letter though as its come fRBS rom Head Office by the headed paper....
They have offered0 -
I would write and tell them you are happy to accept the offer less interest but to include court costs...bringing the total to £2250, after all you are entitled to your court costs but not actually entitled to Interest, this is awarded normally at the judges discretion so if you can waive £120 of the offer as being part of your cost it may well be worth it as if a precedent is set say at £12 per charge then you would lose this off your total claim anyway, but its up to you and before you do anything you may wish to wait for a response from EdinburghLass, she is an excellent board guide.0

Thanks Lindilou39.
I must say I was really surprised to receive the letter and don't want to lose out now as I was hopeful I would have got the money back before now.
I will wait and see what Edinburgh lass says as she is the expert!!!
But I guess if I got £2250 back it would be a great result!!!!
Thanks again!!0
