3 day auctions

ive just listed for the first time on a 3 day auction as i noticed i got lots of bids straight away then was looking at the same name as top bidder for days on the 7day auction. my items rarely go over the rrp so do you think this was a good idea?
i know trying is the only way to know but does anyone else use 3 day over 7 day?

depends on the item, i usually search to see what price similar items are selling for, how many are for sale etc.
i would use a 3 day and a 10 day auction on a thursday as i feel personally that i get more bids when my items end on a sunday.
But i sell alot of 360 games so the sooner i can get them to end the better as the price usually goes down once there are plenty of the same thing for sale.

Depends on the item. If the item is on a fast selling category where goods always sell then yes a 3 day auction is a good idea as buyers will often only look at the auctions just about to finish.

I have some going up this evening in fact timed to end on Sunday night. I'm also putting up some 10 day auctions tonight as well in slower moving categories where I need someone that is going to actually search for the item rather than the category.
