energy supplier nightmare

Just want to warn people out there I am having a major problem with my energy supplier - IRESA.
I reported I had made an error in my submitted readings in July 2017.
In September they promised to resolve it if I sent photos of my meter readings which I did.
This was acknowledged in November but nothing happened till a week ago they told me they were going to take an extra payment at the end of Jan clear my debt (I pay by direct debit but they have been calculating my readings to suit themselves despite my submitting correct ones every month). This was a 4 figure number!!!
I have roped in the Ombudsman but am still very anxious as my bank account cannot accommodate the withdrawal.

    Sadly, you are not alone. There is already a lengthy feedback thread about Iresa on this forum.

    If you know that your energy account is in credit, then you could consider cancelling your DD Mandate. Before you do that though, speak to Citizens Advice and ask them to seek advice from their Expert Help Team. Allegedly, they have access to senior management teams at each of the suppliers.

    ... but a shame you had no time to hang around for a response :cool:

    But here goes:
    This is all described on the Iresa feedback thread ... including how to resolve it.
    Even the notification itself, if you have it to read, says what to do if "you have any queries or concerns" :cool:

    You cannot have "roped in the Ombudsman" until 8 weeks after you have submitted a complaint to the supplier (or the supplier has provided a deadlock letter)
    ... yet you say you only were made aware of the demand a week ago :cool:
