American Express Gold - Supplementary Card

Hey all,

i got the amex gold card and intend on using it for the next year to get my avios points. it says i can add 1 supplementary card for free and that we share the points. i asked my dad if he wanted to get a supplementary card and he agreed. my question is two-fold

1) do all the membership points we earn go to 1 big pot, or does it go to each individual cardholder?
2) there is an offer that if i spend £2000 in 3 months i get 20000 membership points. will this apply across spending for both cards?

Yes both cards contribute to the 20000 points

As a side note if refer your dad for his own card you get an extra 9000 points and he gets an extra 2000 points

i thought the referral system only worked if he got his own amex account? this would be a supplementary card so i didnt think it would apply

Sorry that's what I meant...apply for his own card/account

I just got one of these cards too, will use it instead of my debit card and also for my business expenses instead of my company credit card so I can quickly rack up the points.
I spend around £12K per year on hotels, flights and other business expenses alone, couple that with my personal spending it should return a good reward. :beer:
