Hi

I’ve read through the sticky and was wondering if there was a definitive answer about whether disabled parking spaces in shopping centre car parks are enforceable?

I know I shouldn’t have but I parked in a disabled bay while I popped into a shop for a max of 5 mins, I know I shouldn’t have and under normal circumstances I wouldn’t have but it was absolutely packed and I’d be driving around for 15 mins looking for a space and just did it!

Anyway while in the shop I got a ticket from UKPC, £90 with a reduced rate of £45 if I pay within 14 days.

Should I just ignore it or wait till the 28 days and appeal?

Thanks in advance.

Kam!

parking bays are enforceable under the EA2010 and the shops and parking company have a legal duty to keep them clear for possible disabled people who qualify under the EA2010

so if you are fighting this pcn, it will be done on legal technicalities, not on what is said above , that argument above will definitely fail UNLESS an occupant of the vehicle qualifies under the EA2010 ?

IF THIS WAS A WINDSCREEN TICKET, APPEAL AS KEEPER USING THE BLUE TEXT TEMPLATE AROUND DAY 25

if this was a postal notice, appeal BEFORE day 28

Private Parking ticket? check the 2 sticky threads by coupon-mad and crabman in the Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking Board forum for the latest advice or maybe try pepipoo or C.A.G. or legal beagles forums if you need legal advice as well because this parking forum is not about debt collectors or legal matters per se
