Paypal Negative Balance

Well the short of it, sold an item sent recorded delivery, Royal Mail clueless as to its whereabouts, sent 11th September 2007, after 10 days buyer opened dispute and yesterday paypal closed it and put my account into negative balance, even though I had sent them all the details I had including proof of posting, Royal Mail letter stating investigation under way.

Now it says I must add funds to my account, however as I don't have bank funding enabled I can't, Paypal are useless and say I need to add funds even though they see I won't be able to.

I can't add a bank account to my account until I have cleared the negative balance and you can't add funds with a card.

Any help appreciated, last time I use paypal.

Another failure for recorded delivery, I really think Royal Mail need to address these problems as recorded seems less likely to arrive than standard mail.

Make sure you put in a claim to RM

i agree, infact the whole system is open to abuse in many ways under recorded.
they would be far better offering a 48hr/72hour special delivery service.obviously not as cheap as RD is now but much better since so many customers assume its like that now
  • I also recently send a recorded item sent on 28.9.07 and still no sign of the item. Yes i would agree you have more chance of sending something normal post than paying the extra, I try to contact Royal Mail and all they say is an item is not classed as missing until 15 working days have passed.

    CRAP service or what ?

well to be fair it could be held in the strike backlog somewhere.
the issue many have(or dont realise) is there is no tracking so there is little CS can do in the way to locate an item.
if its not scanned as delivered/undelivered then thats pretty much it
