I had one too - from a different number, but the voicemail mentioned a Countrywide competition and said call one of the 0207 numbers above if there was anything I wanted help with ...
The callers number was 01923 378502
I find that a sudden urge to test our smoke alarm does the trick, only slight problem is that they have your number! We should have a thread with ideas for what to say to these 'cold callers' in order to get rid of them quick!0 -
I just got a voicemail message from Countrywide on 02072656562
They called me just now on my mobile as I recognised the number after you'd posted it - so I left it to ring! They didn't hang up for ages! I bet they are determined to speak to every comp entrant!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I just had a message left on my voicemail from Countrywide too- my phone was off so I didn't see the number.0

Here's another one 01133220542, apparently it's 'peanut media' possibly a fit bit comp. This time when I asked if I'd won she laughed as she said 'no' which was a bad move on her part, I could barely understand a word she said, she was still trying to sell me something as I hung up.

I'll be glad when my plumbing has been sorted and I can turn the ringer off again as per usual...lol.0 -

Please don't do anything like that, it's assault, and as you say they know who your are and it's only some poor sod doing their job at the end of the day.0 -
I just start screaming ''OOOOOOOH I'VE WON I'VE WON ....'' They usually put the phone down on me

Don't think that could be construed as assault - if they phone you, they get what they get at the other end of the line.0 -
This morning I had an answerphone message from Countrywide regarding a competition that I had entered. I was quite excited and phoned the number they left. When I realised it was a marketing call I was absolutely raging and I told the guy that leaving a message suggesting that somebody had won a competition is a rotten thing to do.0
