Want to change UK bank, but I'm not UK resident

I'm living in another EU country but still have some business interests in the UK.
I have a number of UK bank accounts, credit cards etc but I want to change to get the best deals.
The trouble is I don't have a UK address. I could put a relative's address in the UK but of course I'm not on the voter's roll.
I musn't be the only one in this situation. Any advice or suggestions?

You could indeed put a relative's address, but doing so would be fraudulent.
It all depends on the type of account you want to open: almost all consumer accounts require you to be resident in the UK, for obvious reasons. Business account may have different rules.
Isn't your accountant the best person to advise on this?No free lunch, and no free laptop

You say you already have a number of UK bank accounts, credit cards etc. What is the etc? Loans?
What address are you currently using for these accounts and cards? Are you on the electoral roll at that address?
You say you want to change to get the best deals. Which deals specifically? What are you trying to achieve?0 -
If you are a non resident then most banks will let you keep accounts that you have but will not let you apply for any new products.
If you change your address to that of a friend or relative you may need to prove this to the bank.0 -
Specifically, I'd like to open a new personal bank account. I've put my relative's address but I'm not on the voters roll.0

Are you resident elsewhere in the EEA?
If so, you should be able open a basic account in the UKThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Does this address correspond to the address used on your other bank accounts and your credit cards?Specifically, I'd like to open a new personal bank account. I've put my relative's address but I'm not on the voters roll.
As he already has a number of UK bank accounts and is looking to get the 'best deals' (whatever they are) I doubt that a basic bank account would be of interest. Are you resident elsewhere in the EEA?

A little more detail: I own a rental property in the UK on a SVR mortgage and I'd like to remortgage it to take advantage of a better deal.
How on earth do I do so?0 -

To be frank you cannot do this if a non resident.
Try a broker to see if they can help but give them all information about yourself at the outset.0
