Economy 7 supplier change
Beware! I changed from coop energy to Ovo using the MSE energy club. What wasn’t at all clear was that I would lose my economy 7 rates and there’s nothing I can see in the energy club profile which would have prevented this. Luckily Ovo are great. They installed a smart meter within weeks which was how I noticed the energy club glitch. When I rang them they were really helpful, got me back on economy 7 and saved me £100 a year. Needless to say as the MSE energy club nearly cost me a £100 a year I won’t be using them again.

If you have an E7 meter you will get an E7 tariff by default on change of supplier. If you have a different type of meter - E10 or other RHT type - your tariff would be dictated by the supplier and their use of that meter. MSE CEC has no knowledge of what type of meter you have apart from what information you give them and I suspect you did not have an actual E7 meter but Coop allowed it to be used as one. CEC gave you the correct information on the information you provided. Any of the comparison sites would have given the same outcome.0
