Diagnosed with high blood pressure and travel insurance

Hi I went to the doctor the other week and was diagnosed with high blood pressure and put on tablets.
I have thus contacted Direct line and was advised I will not be covered on my policy for a holiday we are taking in November.
The doctor advised me he hoped a few life style changes and the issue may go away but can anyone advise me of a good travel insurance for the time being as we are going to the Carribean in January as well.

If it were to go away tomorrow your Jan holiday insurance still needs informing now.
Read up in your policies about when any new conditions must be reported
You may find the insurer you have for your Carribean trip no longer will cover you either.
If you cannot find cover elsewhere you will have to risk it (not recommended with hypertension - google the possible consequences) or cancel (your current insurers should allow you to cancel now and claim - for both holidays)
Otherwise if you want to still go, then google travel insurance with existing medical conditions to find insurers who will cover your hypertension at a price0 -
hypertension does not go away to speak, but gets controlled, never the less you have a history of hypertension regardless if controlled or not and must be declared for future and current insurance such as travel and applying for life insurance.
Failure to do may mean any claim will be invalid and leave you uncovered"It is prudent when shopping for something important, not to limit yourself to Pound land/Estate Agents"

Hypertension does not attract a massive premium on most insurance companies. Shop around BUT do declare.0

Bit late to this one, but if still struggling, try Lloyds Bank.
They've covered me on Hypertension.0 -

You have to have a premium account (Platinum) with Lloyds to have travel insurance. They no longer do standalone policies.
I'm not sure whether the OP understood the Direct Line adviser to be honest. To be told that he would not be covered as part of his policy is one thing but I do wonder if he asked how much it would cost to add as an existing medical condition?
I would be amazed if they would not cover him for an additional premium.0
