Post Office CC - Strange Pending Transactions

Looking at my online statement I see these charges

1st - 300 quid - Travel agent <--- legitimate
2nd - 2000 quid - Travel agent <-- legitimate
3rd Paid off 300 quid via debit card
4th Paid off 2000 quid via debit card

5th Pending Charge (2300)
6th Pending Charge (2000)

(so pending charges are 4300)

Both with the following as the details... Is this normal? I did contact the credit card but they said wait and see if it goes through and didn't seem bothered.

Currency: United Kingdom, Pounds (GBP)
Merchant Category Code: 0000
Merchant ID Number: CL FUNDS IND
Response Reason: APPROVE
Acquiring Bank ID: 0

Have you queried this with the travel agent?

£2300 - travel agent gets authorisation for full cost of holiday,
...but you pay only £300
£2000 - travel agent gets authorisation for balance, which you pay.

Both authorisations will drop off soon.

What was the date of the payments to the travel agent?

Vortigern - That does make sense (I only had to pay a deposit to start and then they invoiced the rest which i paid).

The travel agent came in as processing (on the 1st and 2nd) then went through as paid (on the 3rd and 4th, with no remaining pending transactions after) which is the strange part. I'll keep an eye on it just is weird how they popped up after it all got paid.
