won pip appeal

Won pip appeal on wednesday. I scored 9 points for the standard rate of pip. From september 2016 to september 2019 but they more than likely take it off me again before then.

Does anyone know when I'll get my backdated money?

    Great news, well done.

It could be 6 weeks or more. The DWP have as much right to appeal the decision as we do but to do this they have to ask for the Statement of Reasons (SOR) To be able to take it to the Upper Tier Tribunal they must find an error in law in making the decision, which is very hard to do. Mostly they don't do this but your backdated money could take a while.
  • Thanks. My pip started November 2014 and they stopped it after my assessment In May 2016. I asked for a mandatory reconsideration but they did't change my mind so I didn't bother appealing.

I then reapplied in August but was given 0 points. I had to spend £20 for the doctor to print out a copy of my medical history I also sent 3 dr reports and loads of information but they still didn't change their minds so this time I appealed.
  • Congratulations I won my appeal on Sept 2nd, I received a phone call today asking me whether I had been hospitalised, abroad or in prison and told that in a couple of days I would receive my award notification. When I asked when my payments would start he replied 4 weeks after your backdated money has been paid, when I questioned when that would be he told me probably sometime next week (although not holding my breath) So all in all round about 4 weeks from appeal date. In the larger scale of things relatively quickly.
