DIY Wireless burglar alarm help please

Hi I'm looking for a wireless DIY alarm (not for insurance purposes or to call police, and not maintained by a company).
I'd like it to call or text us if it gets set off but we don't have a landline so I think I need one that contains a sim card?
I think we'll need 6 zones, and my budget is £300.
Struggling to find anything that meets that budget with those requirements so wondered if anyone had seen any and could recommend?
Thank you

Think about it for a second, if your not home and you get a text from it, what are you going to do?
Call the Police, with the chance it may be a false alarm? (in all likelihood they would not attend a potential false alarm).
Call friends/family who most likely would not get their in time?
Race home to find your house has been emptied and the thieves long gone?
Perhaps your worried about being burgled whilst in bed at night? Do you like the idea of your phone giving away your location within the home?
Whilst we have this romantic notion that our neighbours would go around to see what was going on, MOST people ignore house alarms.
An alarm may act as a deterrent if it's obvious, but money is better spend on good quality locks and security hardware..“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

I had the man round to repair our alarm the other day. I mentioned that it hadn't been working for a while & he said it doesn't matter, as long as you have the bell box & flashy lights!Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

I bought an alarm "bundle" from an ebay seller for £99 Very smart modern looking thing.
1 GSM Unit with up to 300 zones and 24 hour back-up battery
4 wireless door contacts (each inc 24 hr panic button and 24 hr anti-tamper) with smart capability*
4 wireless IR sensors (each inc 24 hr anti-tamper) with smart capability*
1 (ear splitting) wired internal sounder (when that sounds, they'd have no idea where your phone was and would just want to get out of there)
2 metal remote control key fobs (with arm/ part arm/ disarm/ panic button)
4 RFID fobs (additional method to arm and disarm the system) and can be programmed to allow only limited access.
Highly programmable, can be set to text about various alarm conditions, text to let you know if there is power cut, and another text (with smiley face) to let you know when power is restored. Can text up to 10 numbers)
It does of course phone you to warn the alarm is sounding and which sensor was triggered.
* Smart capability - text to warn of low battery power on any particular sensor (tells you which)
Also works as a phone, can make and receive calls.
Been installed now for almost 2 years. It was fun setting it up :)
edit: I do have it wired to an existing flashing exterior bell box of course . . .
Solar-powered / wireless exterior bell boxes are available (about £80 I think)0 -
I've got a wireless Yale alarm which does the job but have heard about wireless jammers which could disable the alarm, the more experienced members here may know more about this.
I use it mainly as a deterrent, when the time comes for an upgrade will go for a wired install to save on changing batterys every year.0 -
Wireless jammers could prevent the alarm setting or possibly even read the code, but the baddies would need to be within range of your wireless signal as you pressed remote. So they'd have to be quite close.0

Thanks all will look on eBay. Is there any particular brand I should be looking at? Did look at Yale but didn't read too good reviews for their smart system.0

On ebay, search "gsm alarm" (they are also available from other sources
)
Plenty to choose from.
This is the unit I was referring to. Not branded as such, probably made in China, but then, so are the "branded" ones.0 -
Pyronix enforcer wireless app controlled alarm no landline-£270 but will need to be installed so about £500!0

I have the latest Yale sync alarm, having had other models before it. Happy to recommend it - communicates with you via text or the app. Must have an internet connection.

Drops to £220 frequently, was £200 on prime day.0 -
Spending it on a camera system that sends you a photo/video is far more useful, With that you can tell the police its in progress and they will actually respond.0
