Can I pay with a credit card?

in Credit cards
I am taking delivery of a new car next week, I have opted not to pay on finance. I have the money in my account to pay for the car but would like to leave the cash in the account and pay by credit cards. I would then like to transfer the balance into 0% balance transfer accounts and pay off the amount over time without incurring any interest. Is it possible to do this? Can the car dealer apply a maximum amount that can be paid on a credit card?

Many car dealers, whilst happy to take a deposit on a credit card, will want to charge you 2-3% to pay the balance (and even then they'll probably have limits as to the transaction value). If they don't, you didn't negotiate hard enough on price!0

They set the term of payment not you so why not. You have a choice to accept or use another method of payment or do not buy the car.
You will be extremely lucky if they allow you to pay by credit card without asking you to pay for the fee.0 -
No doubt he can, he can also charge a fee to cover his costs.0

Much of the money is in the finance, often best to take the finance to benefit from incentives or discounts, you can then settle within a few days or weeks having incurred minimal interest.0 -

Yes, that is what we did. We didn't need the finance but Honda reduced the price by a few hundred pounds if we took out the finance. We paid it off in full after the minimum period and incurred a but of interest but nothing like as much as the discount on the purchase price.0
