Posting to Italy

Hello :)

I've only ever posted to Australia outside of the UK so I've no idea how much things cost and don't want to diddle myself out of postage.

Can anyone please tell me how much shipping would cost for 4 DVD's - all in their boxes - to Italy. She's won three of them and is bidding on the other when it runs out tomorrow - but I've not got any idea how much to charge her for shipping.

Thank you :)

I would be very careful posting to Italy. In the past I have sent my small packets ordinary air mail and literally 50% of the parcels don't arrive!!

I only send to Italy now using as a minimum international signed for service, so you need to add £3,50 to the price of the airmail postage for that.

    HTH!

I've recently been told by a potential Italian customer that our International Signed For does not cover Italy - she mailed asking what did I offer other than RM posting. I told the buyer she would have to buy elsewhere if that was the case as a courier was too expensive and I only use International Signed for. I do not know if that is true but what i can say is that I have posted to Italy using Air Mail and all have arrived in the past so I can't say what is best for you in all honesty.

Has the buyer won them yet and did you offer worldwide shipping? If neither of these it would be a bonus if it is going to be too much hassle. More recently I also had someone from Italy do a claim against me for Fraudulant card use so Paypal refunded their money - but you can't tar every sale the same and while I am cautious I do still offer postage to Italy.

I think Airsure is meant to be better than international signed for.

Italy has a bad reputation from a lot of people I know who sell on eBay. And your potential buyer was talking rubbish (or trying it on to see if you would send via standard mail) - I sent a package to Italy via International Signed For just last week, with additional insurance. And it was a good job that I did, because they buyer has now claimed that the item was damaged in the post (which I find highly unlikely since it was in TWO boxes, with padding inside both!!)

Bottom line, I would never send anything to Italy without Signed For (& added insurance if necessary) unless you are prepared to lose the money. You might be lucky, but it does seem that Italy has higher than its fair share of scammers so you'd be taking a chance.
