How cold is France in the winter?

I'm thinking of going to France for a few days in November - December.

Has anyone been at this time of year and can you advise on how cold it is compared to England?

France is huge. What part are you going to. Seasons can vary there as much as they do here.

Even the southernmost parts of France will likely be cold in Nov/Dec with an average of 10c.

You really need to be a bit more specific as to what part of France.
The south normally has an average dally temperature of about 10c in December whilst the North will be around the 4-5c mark.

Go to the east and you often get the wind chill from the alps and this can bring it down very close to freezing and below freezing if you start going up a mountain.

France is a very big Country, I have only really been as far down as Paris in the winter and I would say it was slightly colder than the South of England, I had to scrape the ice from my car there whereas I hadn't had to here. In my view it was more like the North of England than the South, which surprised me with it being further south, if you see what I mean. Of course I was only there for a few days so not conclusive but it wasn't unbearable.

They have ski resorts, which I would presume would be colder and I have no idea what it would be like further down.

We moved to France in 2005 and were told the area was a micro climate which stayed above freezing in winter. Well the winter of 2006 was very cold, -23 on our car thermometer!
As others have said where in France? We were about mid way between La Rochelle and Poitiers.

We went to Disneyland Paris in November. I was miserable the whole time, it was freezing. We've also been there in April. ditto. I'd assume it will be freezing, then if it's not it will be a nice surprise. Wherever you go.

As you are Mickey Mouse I assume you are going to EuroDisney in which case weather will be very similar to England, cold and wet.

Even in the south it won't be great.
